Multiplication as Repeated Addition
1. Finally, multiplication as repeated addition is another strategy used to solve multiplication equations. Think about the multiplication equation of 4 x 6 = 24. We now that means there are 4 equal groups of 6 with a total of 24 objects in all. If you think closely, you can actually see where addition can be used to solve.
6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24. Add 6 a total of 4 times to show 24 objects in all.

6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24. Add 6 a total of 4 times to show 24 objects in all.

Review of Module 1
- Pull out your Math Journal and answer the prompt: "How are all three strategies of multiplication similar/different?"
- Create a Thinking Map to show the strategies of multiplication.
When finished, raise your hand to show the teacher your response.
